I’m so glad you loved it too! It’s such a great book. Have you read any other amazing books lately?

The last book I really enjoyed was A Man Called Ove, have you read that one? One of those books I fell in love with the writing style and could just tell it would rip my heart out at some point 😅 Apart from that I've been enjoying Holly Jackson's 'A Good Girls Guide to Murder' mystery/crime books which aren't exactly great works of art, but are a lot of fun nonetheless 😊

I haven’t read a Man called ove because I (stupidly) saw the movie and I find it so hard to read a book after watching the movie. I will read it but I need to give it some more time. The movie is amazing by the way. I have read a couple by the same author, Frederik Backman and they were so good!!!

I’ve also read the good girls guide (books one and two but not three). Thoroughly enjoyed the first one (I used to listen to true crime podcasts so I think that’s why it appealed to me). I didn’t think the second one was as good but still an enjoyable easy read 😀

Just popped back here to let you know I listened to this one on audiobook last week on your recommendation and wow it's the best book I've read in a while!! Fantastic storytelling, I *LOVED* the feminist critique of the media and police surrounding the murders. Even the authors choice to never name 'The Defendant' was really great in keeping the narrative focused on the female characters instead, and debunking/shooting down (with evidence!) any romanticised notion about how clever or suave the guy was.. Such a great read, thank you for the rec!!
